Frequently Asked Questions

How much do replacement windows cost?

  • Because there are so many variables involved it is very difficult to assess a price on line. We will need to meet with you to discuss options such as style, color and glass varieties. We will also need to look at the property to determine where certain types of glass will effectively increase energy savings. Lastly, we need to measure the window or door openings and determine the labor involved in removing the existing windows or doors.

Do you cover all areas in Central Florida or just Greater Orlando?

  • We cover Orlando and beyond. If you live within 60 miles of Orlando, we are your source for high performance windows and doors. We are based out of Sanford, but our covered territory extends to the east coast from Flagler to Melbourne and west central Florida from Tavares and Clermont to Auburndale and Bartow.

Do replacement windows qualify for any rebates?

  • Yes. Currently the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) allows for a tax credit on windows and doors for up to 30% of material cost not to exceed $1500.00 total credit. Because this Act promotes energy savings, not all windows, entry doors and sliding glass doors qualify. Weathermaster Building Products, Inc. offers a broad range of qualified products to help you meet these requirements. Progress Energy also offers a rebate program on new high performance windows and doors. Visit the Progress Energy Save the Watts website by clicking here for more information: www.savethewatts.com. Unfortunately Florida Power and Light is not offering any rebates on window and door upgrades at this time.

Do you take credit cards?

  • Yes, we accept Visa, Mastercard and Discover.

Do you have any financing options available for Window and Door Installation services?

  • Yes. We have a financing program through GE that offers low interest or interest free loans. You must purchase at least $500.00 in new windows and doors to qualify. The process takes about 10 minutes to qualify and then final paperwork is done at your home at the time of installation and only includes a signature from you stating the work has been done and you are satisfied with the end product. You will not receive a monthly statement from GE Finance until the work is complete. Ask your sales representative to review this easy option with you.

How long will an appointment last?

  • Usually not long at all and generally less than 1 hour. We can work around your schedule. Our sales representatives can make a quick trip to your site, make some door or window measurements and then call you with a quote with the various options for installation or replacement.

Are your sales reps going to harass me until I buy?

  • Absolutely not! Weathermaster Building Products, Inc. does not believe that is the way to earn your business. Our estimates come without obligation to buy.

Why Weathermaster Building Products, Inc.?

  • We have been in business for over 20 years and during that time we have made long lasting relationships built on quality and trust. Weathermaster Building Products, Inc. is an employee owned company so our employees know that excellent service equals increased profitability. We are also a member of the Better Business Bureau and Seminole Regional Chamber of Commerce. We pride ourselves on developing relationships that will result in future business and referrals. Are you the least expensive?

  • Possibly, however you will need to compare apples to apples. We encourage you to get other quotes. Make sure you check for any underlying charges as this is sometimes seen in home improvement work. Some things you need to look for are warranty, glass options, hurricane ratings and service provided. You need to feel comfortable with the company doing work on your home. We would be happy to review any other quotes you get and offer our advice to you regarding them.

How do I know that your products are certified?

  • Our products are listed with Orange and Seminole County Building Departments. You are also welcome to request information from our office in Sanford and we can email, mail or fax the certified information to you. The websites listed under the “Products” tab for each manufacturer will also have links to all Florida approved products. As a licensed glass and glazing contractor in Florida, we will only provide certified windows to you. Please feel welcome to also stop by anytime for information or to look at the products we offer.

Are you licensed and insured to install windows & doors?

Do I need a permit to replace my door or replace my window?

  • Yes. In fact we require you to have one. We can pull one for you, or you can do it yourself by clicking your local building department under the “Links” tab. We charge a fee for pulling the permit for you and that will be included in your quote should you request that service.

I have friends and neighbors that are interested in buying replacement windows. Do you offer a referral incentive?

  • Yes we do. For each referral you send us that purchases our product you will receive a $50.00 American Express gift card or credit toward your next purchase with us.
